Visit the Ark site

A unique new trip that has been added to an excursion company’s portfolio in conjunction with the Dogubayazit Council in the east of Turkey.  The trip is offering tourists the chance to visit the site of the (possible) remains of Noah’s Ark, which is believed to have come to rest on Mount Ararat after the Flood.  Archaeologists have been studying the area for many years and some believe that they have found fossilized remains of the giant wooden ship which bore Noah, his wife and family and two of every animal in existence.  Despite political problems in this part of eastern Turkey, the Mayor of

Dogubayazit has been able to arrange guides to take visitors into the National Park, which has previously been off-limits, as part of the new ‘ethical’ tour, which includes visits to social projects to learn about the history and politics of the area and a one night stay in Istanbul.

For more information, visit their excellent website on www.noahsarkholidays.com where you can see aerial photographs of the shape of the 'ark' set into the mountainside and reports from visitors who have made the journey to examine the ‘remains.’
