A Trip to the East – Part 1

We are always trying to encourage our readers to get out and about in Turkey and take a look at some of the other areas of this amazing country. Now six regular readers from Ovacık have done just that.

Now six regular readers from Ovacık have done just that and shared their experiences and photographs.

It is often said that east of Ankara is the more interesting part of the country, and the six certainly had a great time.

They hired a driver and minibus to take them on their travels and started with a long day driving to Mersin via Konya.

A long journey but it took in the wonderful scenery of the Turkish Lake District around Isparta, a leisurely lunch in Konya and landed them in Mersin in time for dinner.

Watch out for the next episode in which they start to visit some really interesting places.

And thanks to Jenny and Malcolm Lewington for the journal and photos on which these articles are based.
