A Trip to the East of Turkey - Final
Our group drove straight home from Ankara and were “a little weary but elated from our experiences”.
They are already planning further trips to the Black Sea and other parts of Turkey rarely visited by tourists.
And they have good advice for anyone reading this who may be thinking of making a similar trip:
1.Allow plenty of time to cover the distances involved. This group hired a driver to take them so no-one in the group was actually exhausted by all the driving.
2.Try to learn some basic Turkish – at least enough to negotiate reductions on hotel rooms and ask for road directions.
3.Take a good map and travel books. Main roads are good and well signed but minor roads can be misleading.
4.Don’t forget to take plenty of money for all the great bargains.
So why not get out and about in Turkey this year?
