Georgia – Fountains in Batumi
Early in this series on Batumi we mentioned the plethora of fountains in the city. Now we show you some of the more interesting ones.

The boulevard along the sea front seems to feature a fountain every hundred yards.
Many of them have ‘dancing jets’, change colour and apparently in the summer they play music too and the water jets dance to the beat.
However our favourite fountain is in front of the State Theatre and features a gilded Neptune in its centre.
Beneath him are four mermaids whose breasts spurt several jets of water which also pours out of another orifice – we’ll leave the rest to the photo.
