Georgia – Batumi Botanical Gardens
We continue our tour of Batumi, Georgia with a visit to the botanical gardens.

The Garden was originally laid out in 1868 by Alexander Krasnov, a well-known Russian botanist who is buried in the Garden.
There will be an illustrated talk on this Garden at the next meeting of the Fethiye Times’ gardening Club on November 3rd, venue to be announced here shortly. So we shan’t write much more now.
Readers who want the full account of the Botanical Gardens may care to come to the Gardening Club meeting (5TL as a guest, there will be refreshments provided) details of which were posted yesterday.
Meanwhile we’ll leave you with one more tempting photograph of this wonderful mature jungle of a garden which lies on the Black Sea coast just outside Batumi.
