The Ovacik Residents Association was set up in September 2006 with the aim of giving a voice to the many British expats living in the Ovacik / Hisaronu area. Since that time they have been holding regular meetings and many have been attended by the local council, security forces and other private sector organisations.

The group have been successful in many areas with the latest being that announcements are now made in Turkish and English on the council PA system from time to time.

The next meeting of the Association will be held tomorrow Monday 5th May when the group will be discussing:

1. Health Insurance Policies – An emergency health services insurance policy for 69 YTL per year
2. An update from the local Mayor on various issues including road improvements and planning permissions.
3. Residence Permit Petition Update
4. Local Community Involvement and planned events
5. May Community Picnic
6. Funeral provision

If you are a resident of the area and would like to attend the meeting it will be held at Churchill’s Bar, Hisaronu starting at 11am. If you can’t make that meeting you’ll have to wait until after the summer – 6th October to be exact.
