Brits Rescue Donkey

Two local English residents, Mario and Lynda, came to the Fethiye Friends of Animals Association centre to report an injured young donkey at the side of a road not far from the centre. They had stopped and saw the donkey was un-tethered but was having difficulty in walking. As there was no-one nearby who could have been the owner of the donkey, they reported this to our staff.

The donkey was collected in our vehicle and brought to the Fethiye Friends of Animals Association site where our vet, Emre, examined him. He found an injury to his front foot which Emre believed had been received some time earlier, causing the donkey to be lame.

He will stay with the centre until the injury heals after treatment. It is believed that as no-one has enquired about the whereabouts of the donkey because it was lame and therefore of no further use.

Mario and Lynda said that if necessary they would place the donkey in a field adjacent to their home and look after him, together with their own 5 dogs, 50 tortoises and numerous birds!
