Fethiye Times Book of the Month – Turkish Delights by Philippa Scott

In contrast to the novel we recommended last month, this book is a coffee table tome that is not only a very interesting read, but also serious eye candy.

Philippa Scott is the London Arts Correspondent for Cornucopia magazine which, in case you have yet to come across it, is a quarterly glossy magazine celebrating all things Turkish.  It is only available on subscription but you can check out their website at www.cornucopia.net.

Philippa knows her subject and in Turkish Delights presents over 500 years worth of Turkish achievements in the fields of painting, textiles, interiors and fashion.  Not only is the book crammed with gorgeous colour illustrations it is also full of fascinating facts and a delight to read.

A book no self respecting Turkophile should be without.
