Open Gardens Day 2011 – Carol & Clive’s garden

The next 'open garden' was a colourful treat.

Another şark köşesi is a focal point in Carol and Clive’s garden and handily placed near the permanent barbecue.

As you can see from the misty background, it was pouring down at this point.

Carol was disappointed because the poor weather in the weeks preceding Open Gardens’ Day had retarded the blooming of many plants in her garden.

However, as you can see, there was still plenty of colour. And if you look closely you’ll see fat buds on the rose in the foreground which, had the weather been better, would have been in full bloom by now.

Here’s a close up of the purple flowering shrub glimpsed in the previous photo. This is solanum which is actually related to the potato!

Another lovely garden, which is a tribute to a lot of hard work on the part of its owners.
