Not just any old meeting but the AGM at which Stuart presented the accounts which are very healthy and the programme through to May was discussed.

Unfortunately Bombay Corner, where the meeting was scheduled to be held, failed to open up in time, so the meeting decamped next door to a warm welcome at the Meğri Bar.

Eighteen people turned up and paid their annual subscription, a mere 10TL, several of them bringing apologies from friends currently in the UK.

However, the Club is actively seeking new members, so why not come to February’s meeting and join up for the rest of the year?

Details will be on the website before the end of this month.

But if you like to plan well in advance we can say it will be at the Meğri Bar on Wednesday, 3rd February starting at 2pm.

Having got the ‘official’ business out of the way members settled down to watch an episode of Monty Don’s ‘Around the World in 80 Gardens’ this one based in India.

Afterwards there were murmurings about a Gardening Club trip to India – but we don’t think we have enough funds just yet!
