Gardening Fethiye Times Gardening Club - December Meeting was a Great Success

Two members had generously brought cuttings/plants which were eagerly snapped up and, in future, it was agreed that a donation of 1YTL be made for taking cuttings/plants to swell the Club's funds.
The Mediterranean Garden Society (see www.mediterraneangardensociety.org)
was discussed. Based in Athens with branches in all areas of mediterranean climate (California, Spain, Australia, South Africa, etc.) the Society does not yet have a branch in Turkey although there are individual members here. In the longer term it could be worthwhile considering whether or not the Fethiye Times Gardening Club becomes a branch of the Mediterranean Garden Society (MGS) - especially as there is so much endemic flora in this region. Pat had sent off her application to join the MGS and would pass on its quarterly magazine to other members during 2006.
The next meeting of the Club will be held on Wednesday 4 January at Sue Tekin's house in Uzumlu starting at 2pm. Pat and Chris will be in Uzumlu from 1pm onwards having pide for lunch at the teahouse opposite the mosque and all are welcome to join them there. We can then proceed in convoy to Sue's house on the road to Cadianda.
