Gardening Fethiye Times Gardening Club – November Meeting

Held on Wednesday 7 November, when the rain actually stopped, the November meeting took place at Villa Lavanta in Ovacik, home of long-time Gardening Club members David and Stuart.
David gave a short talk on the history of the garden, started in 2002 and thus several years older than some other members’ gardens. We were all treated to a buffet (not just the usual scone/cake and tea) accompanied by a choice of fruit wine or egg nog – both labelled as ‘Fethiye Times Gardening Club Special Reserve’ – if only! Thanks goes to Ata Pallavavus from Swallows Restuarant in Hisaronu for the catering and Pat for her scones.
{mosimage}To complete the occasion there was a flower identification quiz – won by Maurice and Janet, although all who took part also got consolation prizes.
A very interesting and enjoyable afternoon, and many thanks to David and Stuart for their superb hosting of the day.
