Gangsters and a horses head replaced the traditional hearts and flowers at a Valentines Party with a twist when a Valentines Night Massacre was held in Çalış recently.

A ball was had by all as Bostons restaurant was turned into a Speakeasy for the night and the clock turned back to the roaring twenties.  

Shady looking Godfather characters sporting fedoras, white ties and the odd violin case took to the floor with brightly dressed flappers in pearls and boas to party the night away.

The unusual fundraising event, which was organised by the Çalış Children’s Charity, was a phenomenal success with tickets selling out within just 2 weeks of release.

Nearly everyone turned up in fancy dress and there was American diner-style food, and live 20’s style music from local singers Sherri and Paul Wynter.

But the highlight of the evening had to be the “For One Night Only” performance of the “Çalış Flappers” and their mentor “Tallulah” along with “Fizzy” Freeman.

The eight Flappers and Fizzy (all members of the Calis Children’s Charity) and Tallulah otherwise known as Nigel Robertson of Kismet Bar, ‘Charlestoned’ and ‘Dooped’ their way through four numbers from the Bugsy Malone stage show to huge applause from the crowd.

And with 5 TL from every meal being kindly donated to the charity by Carole and Recip of Bostons, plus a raffle, the memorable evening netted 650 TL for the Children’s Charity which all goes to help the youngsters in the local area.
