The 2008 Calis Carnival fund raising events including the actual carnival raised 24,000 YTL and that money is now being put to good use.
One of the projects came to successful fruition recently when equipment purchased for the disabled unit at Patlangi埓chool was installed.
The committee agreed to purchase playground equipment for the school’s new disabled garden, a big bouncy castle ball pit for the soft room and modular tables for the disabled unit’s two classrooms.
Members of the Committee were recently invited to join officials from Fethiye Belediye for the joint opening of the school’s new technology department and music room and the disabled garden.
After speeches and a display of dancing and music by the schoolchildren, guests were given a guided tour of the new areas by school director Tamer Karaca and later joined the happy children at play in the garden area.

Other projects being funded from the 2008 carnival funds include 10 university bursaries for children who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend, swings and seesaws for Faralya village school playground and a stair climbing wheelchair for a local rehabilitation centre.
The committee has already purchased 14 tents for the Fethiye Scout Group.
So a big thank you to all of you who have and continue to support the Calis Carnival. Your contributions are really helping the lives of local kids!
