Turkish Vehicle Tax Hike for 2012

The cost of taxing a Turkish vehicle has increased by 10.25 percent for 2012 and we explain how you can find the sum you will need pay using the official car tax website.

The cost of taxing a vehicle in Turkey has increased by 10.25 percent for 2012 according to the Official Gazette.

Last year the increase was 7.7 percent.

To use the calculator follow our instructions below.

Instructions

Click on the left menu 'Motorlu Taşıtlar'

Then click on - 'Motorlu Taşıtlar Vergisi Hesaplama' the last one on the list of three.

Choose the vehicle class from the drop down box 'Arac Tipi Seciniz' e.g. Otomobil (Car)

Choose the age of the car on the 'Aracın Yaşı' box

Then choose the engine capacity - 'Motor Silindir Hacmi' - as shown on your registration documents

Press the HESAPLA button for the total due and the instalment options.

Note there are no discounts for paying the annual sum in one go strangely.

And that’s it - apart from making the actual payment at the Tax Office (Maliye) or online. Payments are due at the end of January and the end of July if paid in two instalments.
