Need someone to fix/maintain your vehicle?

Go and see Sakip.  When Fethiye Times first met him he was about to set up his own car repair workshop in the Sanayi having served a full apprenticeship.  That was early in the summer of 2004 and he now employs five people and is doing well.

He is easy to find, turn into the middle road that leads into the Sanayi, opposite the new bus station, and he's right there on your right.  He doesn't speak much English, but will always find someone to interpret when necessary.  Fethiye Times has had him work on two cars brought from the UK: a Suzuki Vitara and a Ford Focus Estate; and now he maintains our Turkish gas-fired monster.  You don't make appointments, just turn up at his workshop with the vehicle and he'll sort it as soon as possible.  If it's a minor problem, you'll be served tea while it gets fixed.  For bigger jobs leave your mobile number, hop on a dolmus downtown and Sakip will phone you when the car is ready for collection.

So if you haven't yet found your own 'man in the Sanayi' - get on down to Sakip Oto.
