5 Days to a Vehicle Visa – Urban myths exploded

You’ll probably have heard all sorts of rumours of strange things you need to carry in your car to pass the visa. We explode the myths.

No doubt some readers have already been told you have to carry a neck brace as part of your first aid kit.  WRONG.

In the FAQ file at the testing station it sets the regulations out in detail.

The only vehicles that must carry neck braces are those licensed to take passengers (effectively minibuses and coaches) who should have one neck brace on board per 10 passengers.

The other myth exploded in the FAQ file was a new one for me, but it’s a beauty.

You will be pleased to know you are not required to carry a body bag – or as the Turkish translates: ‘a corpse bag’.

As for fire extinguishers most people won’t need to carry any thing bigger than a 1 Kg type. The size only goes up for bigger vehicles such as lorries and busses.

Good luck with getting your visas and, if you have any interesting/amusing tales to tell about the process, please pass them on.
