The kitchen is a hive of activity. Well, preparing food for the guests IS a labour of love at the Yakamoz.

Marmalade time

It’s marmalade making time and the kitchen is filled with a sweet-sharp aroma coming from the pans bubbling on the stove.

Olives are hand-picked from the garden, cracked and cured in brine.

The garden

The Yakamoz has an attractive, natural garden that provides a relaxing shady area as an alternative to the pool terrace.

A garden like this needs tending constantly and, during the winter months, there is a lot of heavy work to be done pruning, clearing and digging borders and general tidying up.

Blueing the green

Although not in use over the winter, the swimming pool is left full to prevent damage to the walls or cracking from pressure. Once the chlorine levels drop, algae can grow and the water goes green.

Don’t worry, Mehmet and the team will be ‘blueing the green’ in time for your visit.

Furniture is either stored inside or piled up and covered over to protect it from the winter weather. Outside areas and features are protected with plastic sheeting.

Spring has sprung

It may still be winter, but there are many signs that spring is upon us and summer is on its way.
